For 1-10V lighting control systems, the load controller transmits a low voltage linear direct currect (DC) signal. 1V equates to 1-5% (minimal) lighting output; 10 V equates to 100% output. All fittings on the same lighting group respond to the dimming instruction at the same time, There is no error checking in this method. As any voltage induced on the control line is considered a correct signal by the fittings, the lammp cannot turn off completey using the control line alone. A relay can be controlled in parallel with the control signal to turn offc the fittings completely.
